Abstract

Sacral agenesis is an unusual congenital malformation of the lower vertebral column, frequently associated with orthopedic deformities as well as neurourological and anorectal malformations.

Especially in rehabilitation field,it may be the cause of spinal cord injury and subsequent neurogenic bladder, and if the diagnosis is delayed, vesicoureteral reflux, hydronephrosis or chronic urinary tract infections are the final results. So early diagnosis, complete neurourological evaluation and adequate management with careful follow-up of risk factors to the upper urinary tract are mandatory.

We report our experience treating one case of sacral agenesis associated with delayed development in 16 months old female patient without any other signs of complication nor congenital anomalies.
