Comparative Sensory Nerve Conduction Study between the Distal Lalency and Distal Nerve Conduction Velocity
Abstract

1) Each median nerve and ulnar nerve in 33 healthy Koreans, age ranging between 19~35, were used.

2) In median nerve, the coefficient of variation of distal latencies and sensory nerve conduction velocities using the latencies were 8.0% and 7.8%, respectively.

3) In ulnar nerve, the coefficient of variation of distal latencies and sensory nerve conduction velocities using the latency were 12.4% and 9.4%, respectively.

4) Narrower dispersion was obtained in sensory nerve conduction velocities using distance/ distal latency than the distal latencies in both nerves. Which means sensory conduction velocity using the distance/distal latency is more accurate than the distal latency in evaluation of sensory conduction of wrist and hand.
