Social Adjustment Study for the Spinal Quadriplegic and Paraplegics
Abstract

It is obvious that the essence of rehabilitation of the spinal quadriplegic and paraplegic must lie in restoring the activities of body and mind to re-integrate himself into the community. Thus, the social adjustment is the final achievement and the importance of rehabilitation in "The spinal man".

The social situation of spinal man in our country is quite different from that of the advanced country, since there is no legislation or acts were established upon those of civilian disabled population after they have been discharged from the hospital care.

This study is to observe the encountered social problems and soical adjustment states of 10 spinal cord injured males, ranging ages from 20 to 43 (2 Quadriplegics and 8 Paraplegics), who responded to our follow up inventory study coducted by quetionnaire paper and visiting. The results were analized and their problems and further development procedures are discussed for their social rehabilitation program.
