Influence of Position of Immobilization on the Functional Recovery of Hands
Abstract

Authors presented 114 cases of injury of hand who were treated at orthopedic department of St Mary's hospital since Jan. 1974 up to May 1978. Hands were splinted in a 11 after initial surgery or simple fracture reduction in two fashion. One group of hands was immobilized in the position of classical function of hand, and remainder in the position of protection.

Function of hand restored early and better by immobilizing the injured hand in the position. Therefore this position of protection is recommended to be adopted in treating the injured hand.
