Effects of the Physical Therapy for the Stiff Joints Following Trauma in the Victims Of Industrial Accident
Abstract

343 stiff joints of 201 patients who had been involved in industrial accidents were placed on physical therapy. The average duration of treatment was three and a half months. The causes of the stiff joints were fracture, dislocation, amputation, ligament injury, tendon injury, peripheral nerve injury and etc. The treatment involved various kinds of heat, hydrotherapy, and therapeutic exercises. Before beginning the treatment, the disabilities of individual patient were evaluated in accordance with Korean Compensation Law for the Victims of Industrial Accident. At the time of discharge, the disabilities were evaluated again.

Comparing the disabilities at the time of admission with the ones on discharge, 21.4% of 201 patients showed complete relief from disabilities and 84.1% of them showed marked improvement.

And 96,475,000 Won of compensation funds was saved.
