Abstract

Classic cause of winged scapula is serratus anterior palsy due to long thoracic nerve injury. We experienced a rare case of winged scapula which is caused by the rupture of rhomboideus major muscle without neuronal damage in a 12-year old female. Direct surgical repair of the muscle was carried out and deformity was corrected. A brief reviews of literatures is presented.

Key Words: Winged scapular, Rhomboides major muscle rupture
