Since isokinetic exercise equipment can give and evaluation of muscle strength with great accuracy and objectivity, it is more widely using ad the one of the important methods in sports and rehabilitation medicine. The purpose of this paper was to develop nermative strength values for ankle invertors and evertors in normal young 40 adults to provide a guideline for rehabilitation of patients. The mean peak torque of dominant invertors at 30o/sec speed were 21.9±6.0 ft-lbs in male, 14.6±3.3 ft-lbs in female and in evertors, 16.9±6.4 ft-lbs in male, 10.5±3.8 ft-lbs in female. The peak torque of two muscle groops in male were significant higher than in female. The ratio between the peak torque of evertors to invertors were 77% in male, 72% in female. Significant difference in strength was found between the dominant leg and non-dominant leg (p<0.01). |
